We can clean and restore most tarmac surfaces for homeowners and commercial customers.
Tarmac is one of the cheapest surfaces to lay and can be very durable. However, with regular use and exposure to UV rays the tarmac can lose colour and dry out over time. The resins that are in the tarmac when first laid will dry out and the tarmac will lose some of its elasticity which helps to prevent it cracking up.
Most people will see replacement of the tarmac as the only option and this can be very expensive. Our tarmac repair and restoration process can help save you a lot of money by avoiding the need to dig up the tarmac and having a new surface re-laid.
The refurbishment process will replace any lost resin polymers and the strong pigments formulated in the product will help to reproduce the original colouring of the tarmac surface.
Why is it important to use a tarmac sealer?
Like most things in the garden, they need maintenance and your tarmac driveway is no exception. In simple terms, if you don’t use a tarmac sealer to protect and preserve the tarmac on your driveway, you will eventually end up having to replace it, a costly exercise that could be avoided with the simple application of tarmac sealer.
A tarmac sealer (also sometimes referred to as tarmac paint) is a water-based emulsion with a base (usually asphalt) that is combined with fillers and additives to provide flexibility and strength. Tarmac sealers act as a shield for your driveway to help prevent water penetration, damage from UV rays, weather damage and chemical corrosion (including petrol, vehicle coolants and oil).
To understand why tarmac sealers are important it is important to know about the composition of the material.
Tarmac is made of a mixture of stone aggregate and a liquid binder. The binder acts like a glue with the aggregate and allows the hardened result to set to the contours of the surface it is being applied to.
The benefit of the treatments offered by us for paved surfaces is obvious, but other surfaces also lose their original texture and colour. In the case of tarmac surfaces it is possible to not only just pressure wash these surfaces to clean them, but also to treat them with a restoring agent. The dramatic difference is self evident as the material is being coated on.
